Being used and thrown away is par for the course when you decide you are going to become serious about following Jesus. It comes with the territory. Darkness does not light, and lies do not like the truth. Sometimes God will do things in your life that people closest to you do not understand, and it will begin to isolate you. The isolation years in the process of deeply seeking God can be loaded down with rejection and abandonment. This song celebrates the fact that Jesus will never do that. He promises to never leave us or cast us aside (Hebrews 13:5).
