The Lord Is Still Speaking
With full understanding that people take this off on tangents and get wacky with it, sing "God told me" as a license for manipulating others, Jesus Himself said that His sheep know His voice. The fact that people mishandle/misuse it does not make it less valid, it just calls for keener discernment. Jesus gave us criteria to use to discern His voice and to decide who is listening and who is not.
Ask yourself, "Do I truly know the voice of Jesus? Can I discern conviction of the Holy Spirit? When I do realize He is speaking to me, do I follow and obey that?"
